Ensuring a Sustainable CFS: Research Planning Event

Associate Professor Anne Hewitt (University of Adelaide) and Dr Sarah Moulds (University of South Australia) are hosting this research planning event entitled  Ensuring a Sustainable CFS because they recognise how important the Country Fire Service is to the South Australian community, and to the volunteers that generously and loyally offer their time and expertise. Anne and Sarah  want to play a part in understanding what it will take to secure the sustainability of the CFS and make sure the wide range of benefits it offers the community are accessible to future generations. 

They need your help to design a research project that will identify obstacles to CFS recruitment and craft effective solutions. Anne and Sarah  want this project to deliver something useful and practical. They need your unique expertise, experiences and perspectives to help make sure we design the project in the best way from the start.  They are hosting a two hour workshop to listen and learn from people like you. At the workshop, participants will work together to develop specific project aims and identify practical outputs. 

Anne and Sarah will gather thoughts on who they should talk to and how. They will also share what they know about the laws and regulations that apply in this space so you will walk away with knowledge to share with your colleagues, as well as a chance to play an ongoing advisory role in a practical research project.

Given your background, experience and expertise in this area, you are invited to join and share your insights and knowledge.  The event is free, and will take place in a hybrid format: participants are welcome to attend the University of Adelaide’s Law School (located in the Ligertwood Building, North Terrace) or online viz zoom.
