Brainstormer! Getting a Human Rights Framework onto the Agenda for 2022

At our inaugrual Human Rights Day Event on 10 December 2020 we discussed a whole range of important rights issues impacting the lives of South Australians.  We agreed that there are many exisitng organisations and individuals leading the way to address these issues and we have already identified ways to work together to support their leadership.  We also agreed that we share a common goal - to advance a human rights framework for South Australia, including a legislative framework for rights protection that would: • incorporate human rights principles into policy design and development; • emphasise the dignity and participation of all members of the South Australian community in the design and development of policies and laws that impact their lives; • include mechanisms within the parliamentary process for rights considerations to be more prominent.
